When you are in dissociation, emotionally speaking, it’s better to feel anxious and scared than to feel nothing 😏
Anxiety and fear have an energy, a movement — whereas dissociation is a flat, detached, almost apathetic state whereby you seem not to care, you seem like a robot, and life has not taste or color to it
So let me tell you: If you are feeling anxious, thats a sign of progress!
It’s true, you feel more scared and anxious and you feel as if things are getting worse — but let me remind you: you are FEELING! You feel more alive (yep even if you feel like shit)!
When you pierce the dissociation walls, you start to feel the anxiety that was repressed, the things in you you didnt want to look at, repressed anger,
memories that make you sad and angry, you start to have all kinds of emotions and memories coming back to the surface — and this is exactly what happens to my students
